What is New Life Baptist Church?
New Life Baptist Church is a church plant out of Friendship Baptist Church of Owasso. We were graciously given a three acre property with a building completely debt free as long as it stayed a church. Of course, we did not turn our backs on this opportunity. How often do church planters get a building and property completely debt free right from the start? We felt like this was an opportunity given by God that we could not pass up.
New Life Baptist Church is going to be a missions-minded church. We love Locust Grove and our surrounding community already and want to be a blessing in every way we can but most importantly we want to do as the Great Commission tells us; to share the Gospel. The Great Commission also tells us to reach the uttermost and that is what we will do. We are going to be a church that supports missionaries and sends missionaries. Every missionary and missions work we support at NLBC will come and speak to us and give our church a chance to get to know them. Here at New Life Baptist Church we want to see souls saved and lives changed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ across the street and around the world.
Our Mission
Our mission here at New Life Baptist Church is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20). We want to see souls saved and lives changed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We also want to fulfill the mission of Romans 10:13-15. We want to be a missions minded church.
We want to be a church that not only supports missions but sends missionaries as well.
Our Pastor & Wife
Pastor Scott and his wife Livey are not just the pastor and wife but they are the ones who are starting this new church. They felt the call to plant churches while at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, where they met. They have given their lives to do whatever God called them to and God has sent them here to Locust Grove to plant New Life Baptist Church. They heard about the opportunity and both felt that the Lord wanted them to be the ones to start this church and to spread the Gospel to as many people as they can.
Pastor Scott grew up in Kansas City, KS. His parents divorced at a young age but he still grew up in church. He heard the Gospel and accepted Christ as his savior at age 7. Ever since then he felt the call to ministry. Scott has always had a heart for the small town life because he never really liked living in a big city. When God presented him and Livey with this opportunity he fell in love with Locust Grove and the whole area around it. He just felt like this was the place God wanted them to start this church.
Livey is a native to the Tulsa area, she grew up in the small town of Sperry. She even grew up going to Friendship Baptist Church who gave them this opportunity. She got saved at the age of 12 and just like Scott felt the call to full time ministry. After going to school she always felt like going back to Oklahoma but knew she needed to go where God wanted her. She knew that since she and Scott are called to church planting that could be anywhere and she was accepting of that. She did hope though that God would put them in a small town so eventually they can raise their kids in a place like she was raised. When she heard about the opportunity to plant in Locust Grove she fell in love with the idea and the town.

Launch Details
Our hope is to fully launch New Life Baptist Church in the Fall of 2023! As of now, our building is operational and we are meeting every Sunday at 10:30 am for a Bible Study. We hope you would consider joining us each Sunday as we prepare to launch soon!
